Kate Todd

Kate Todd is a partner at Torridon Law PLLC. Her practice brings a wealth of experience in developing and coordinating high-stakes, multi-forum legal strategies. She has a distinctive blend of government, private sector, non-profit, and academic background, with a particular focus on administrative law and constitutional litigation.

Todd previously served as Deputy Counsel to President Trump, advising the President on judicial selection and liaising with the U.S. Senate to support the President’s agenda. She is also former Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel of the U.S. Chamber Litigation, the litigation arm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In this role, she spearheaded and expanded the Chamber’s aggressive litigation docket throughout the state and federal courts and through extensive practice at the Supreme Court of the United States.

Todd serves as a public member of the Administrative Conference of the United States, as a member of the board of visitors of the Virginia Military Institute, and as a member of the board of directors of the Catholic Information Center in Washington, DC. She previously served on the D.C. Circuit’s Advisory Committee on Procedures and as a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber Litigation Center and of the D.C. Circuit Historical Society.

Earlier in her career, Todd served as Associate Counsel to President George W. Bush and was a partner in the appellate, litigation, and communications practices of a Washington, D.C.-based law firm. She taught the law of federal courts at The George Washington University Law School for numerous years and constitutional law at Cornell University’s Washington program.

Todd served as a law clerk to Associate Justice Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court of the United States and to Judge J. Michael Luttig of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she was executive editor of the Harvard Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree in government, history, and international relations from Cornell University.
