Justin M. Romeo has significant experience handling disputes and investigations, with a career spanning work at all three levels of the federal judiciary, as a Chief Counsel on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee, and in private practice.

Prior to joining Torridon Law, Justin served as Chief Counsel for Oversight and Investigations on the Senate Judiciary Committee under Ranking Member Lindsey Graham. There, Justin’s portfolio included investigations of wrongdoing by agencies including the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security, congressional subpoenas, reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, judicial ethics, and impeachment.

Prior to his work in the Senate, Justin was in private practice at an international law firm in its Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia offices. Focusing on critical motions and appeals, Justin secured trial level and appellate victories for numerous clients. In the appellate space, Justin was the principal author of briefing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in an FTC antitrust action on behalf of the world’s largest healthcare company. Justin obtained a stay pending appeal, reversal, and victory on remand, which protected critical competitively sensitive information from public disclosure. At the trial level, Justin helped achieve summary judgment on behalf of a global health non-profit wrongfully accused of supporting unethical research conducted by the U.S. Public Health Service in Guatemala in the 1940s.

Earlier in his career, Justin served as a law clerk to then-Chief Judge D. Brooks Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, a law clerk to Judge Danny C. Reeves of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and a legal assistant to Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. at the Supreme Court of the United States.
